EU Fundamental Rights Agency - FRANET
In collaboration with the University of Nicosia's Center for Fundamental Rights, Symfiliosi participates in FRANET, an independent center of excellence for promoting and protecting human rights in the EU. FRANET is the European Union's Agency for Fundamental Rights multidisciplinary research network, which has been in operation since 2011. It is composed of contractors in each EU Member State who, upon request, provide relevant data to FRA on fundamental rights issues, to facilitate the Agency’s comparative analyses. FRANET was created to help make Europe a better place to live and work, as well as to defend the fundamental rights of all people living in the EU.

The agency has developed a very dynamic cooperation with the EU institutions and a number of other EU agencies. While it develops its activities independently, FRA is in regular dialogue with the European Parliament, Council and Commission. Through its extensive research across the EU Member States, the agency provides EU institutions with fundamental rights expertise, analysis and advice.

The Agency also cooperates with the United Nations (UN), the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), the Council of Europe and other international organisations, National Human Rights Institutions, Equality Bodies, Ombudsperson Institutions, as well as civil society organizations.
